“I admit that it is refreshing to watch you evaluate a horse from every possible angle and perspective.”

I don’t believe in quick fixes.
With me, you don’t just get an osteopath. You get a partner in your horse’s performance and well-being.
Why you want to work with me

Every horse is different. That’s why I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all method. I take the time to assess, treat, and optimize - so your horse doesn’t just feel better but moves, performs, and recovers better in the long run.
1. In-Depth Assessment
I start with a detailed evaluation of your horse’s movement, posture, and structural balance. Using my hands and trained eye, I detect restrictions, asymmetries, and areas of compensation. If I believe further examination by a vet or specialist is needed, I’ll tell you upfront. My goal is to find the root cause of the issue, not just treat symptoms.
2. Precision Osteopathic Treatment
I use hands-on techniques to restore mobility, release tension, and correct imbalances. Every adjustment is tailored to what your horse needs at that moment - whether it’s improving flexibility, reducing discomfort, or optimizing performance. I work with the body, never against it, ensuring changes are effective and lasting.
How I Work - A Targeted Approach for Lasting Results
With me, your horse gets a structured, performance-driven approach - because every great athlete needs a strong foundation.

“Zazou offers the total package. Besides osteopathy and craniosacral therapy, she uses Bach Flower therapy and aroma therapy. By using kinesiological testing she checks whether your horse is getting the right nutrition, when and what to adapt. She’s very calm and patient - really took her time for my horse and me.”

My work doesn’t stop when the session ends. I guide you with practical advice on exercises, nutrition, management, and post-treatment care to reinforce and maintain results. Honest, Effective, and Built for Results
I won’t sell you endless treatments. If I believe your horse needs something outside my expertise, I’ll tell you. If I see progress taking longer than expected, I’ll adapt. This is about real, measurable change - not just temporary relief.

3+
Years of experience
I started Cabalancé because I refused to accept surface-level understanding of horses. After decades in the saddle, I saw too many horses masking discomfort and hiding their true selves. My mission became clear: truly listen to what each horse’s body is saying, so they can express their authentic, pain-free selves and perform at their best.
20+ Years of Diverse Equine Experience
I bring over 20 years of hands-on experience riding and training horses across multiple disciplines and levels. From guiding playful foals and green youngsters to partnering with seasoned stallions, I’ve worked with horses of every temperament and breed. These experiences taught me to read the subtle cues of equine behavior and reinforced my belief that every stubborn step or pinned ear has an underlying cause. I knew there had to be a better way to help these horses beyond traditional training - a way to address the root of their issues, not just the symptoms.
Fueled by a Passion for Horses
Certified Holistic Equine Osteopath
Determined to turn my passion for equine well-being into tangible results, I undertook a rigorous and profound two-year course in holistic equine osteopathy under Filip Martens, one of the field’s leading practitioners. I graduated as a certified Holistic Equine Osteopath, mastering techniques to restore balance and freedom of movement in horses. This training not only honed my skills - it transformed my perspective on healing. I founded Cabalancé to blend my lifelong horse experience with proven osteopathic methods, offering horses a path to true health and optimal performance.
Healing Horses, Fulfilling a Dream
For the past three years, I’ve been living my dream as a professional equine osteopath. To date, I’ve helped over 100 horses (and their dedicated owners) overcome pain, recover from injuries, and reach new levels of comfort and performance. Each success story - from a rescued mare regaining trust in her stride to a competition gelding unlocking explosive agility - reminds me why I do this work. I often say “healing horses heals me too” because every time I help a horse release tension and move freely, I feel a profound sense of purpose and connection.
Unlocking Potential & True Character
My journey with horses is ever-evolving. At home, I”m currently retraining my own 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse, Ser Sunday. Every session with him is a two-way learning experience - as I help him overcome his past and reveal his goofy, gentle nature, he pushes me to continually refine my approach and empathy. Working with Ser Sunday keeps me grounded in the reality that patience, consistency, and holistic care can transform any horse. It’s a daily reminder that when a horse is understood and free of pain, their true character shines through.
Committed to Your Horse’s Well-Being
Cabalancé stands for balanced horses and balanced results. When your horse is free of pain and balanced in body and mind, their true character shines and their performance soars. I’m deeply committed to unlocking that full potential in every horse I touch, treating each one as if it were my own. With a blend of passion, 20+ years of expertise, a GRO-recognised diploma, and genuine love for these animals, I’m here to help your horse feel their best - so that together, you and your equine partner can achieve your best.

Frequently asked questions
Is osteopathy safe for all horses?
Yes, equine osteopathy is absolutely safe for horses of all ages and disciplines when done by a qualified practitioner. I use a gentle, non-invasive approach tailored to your horse’s individual needs. All adjustments are performed with precision and care - there’s no forceful cracking or harsh manipulation. Instead, I apply just the right amount of pressure and movement to relieve tension and restore balance, always paying close attention to how your horse responds. Whether your horse is a young foal, a high-performance athlete, or a senior companion, I ensure they stay comfortable and relaxed during the session. In fact, most horses find osteopathic treatments relaxing; they often lower their heads, yawn, or show other signs of relief as their discomfort melts away.
This includes pregnant mares, when performed correctly. Pregnant mares can benefit from osteopathy to stay comfortable and prepare for foaling, as well as after birth before their hip structures stabilize again - but treatment is always at the owner’s risk, and I take no responsibility for any pregnancy or birth-related issues.
How soon will I see results?
Every horse is a bit different, but many owners notice improvements immediately or within a 3-7 days after the first session. Often, your horse will show signs of relief right away - they might move more freely, seem more relaxed and content, or perform a certain movement with less resistance. Subtle changes like a smoother gait or a happier expression can be visible after that initial adjustment. With continued sessions, these improvements build on each other. You’ll typically see increasing benefits over time, such as greater flexibility, better symmetry in movement, and enhanced performance under saddle as the horse’s body rebalances. It’s important to have realistic expectations: a horse with a long-term or complex issue might need a few sessions to experience significant change, and I’ll explain what you can expect based on your horse’s situation. Rest assured, my approach is focused on effective, lasting results - after each treatment I closely monitor how your horse responds, and I adjust our plan as needed to ensure we’re on the right track. Ultimately, the vast majority of horses show clear, positive results from osteopathy, from immediate relief of discomfort to long-term improvements in their comfort and athletic ability.
Why is preventive osteopathy important?
Preventive osteopathy is a cornerstone of my philosophy because prevention is more effective and cost-efficient than crisis management. Rather than waiting until your horse is in pain or off their game, regular preventive sessions allow me to find and fix minor misalignments, tight muscles, or imbalances before they become serious problems. It’s much easier (and kinder to your horse) to maintain good mobility and comfort than to deal with a major injury or lengthy rehabilitation later on. This proactive approach means fewer surprises - your horse stays in optimal condition, can train and compete with minimal interruptions, and avoids the stress and downtime of sudden health issues. In the long run, investing in preventive care not only saves money on emergency treatments, but also extends your horse’s athletic longevity and overall well-being. It’s all about keeping your partner happy, healthy, and ready to perform at their best.
How do I know my horse needs osteopathy?
I look for subtle signs that your horse might benefit from osteopathy. Common clues include:
✅Stiffness or resistance in movement: Your horse may seem less flexible, have difficulty bending, or show stiffness in the neck, back, or limbs.
✅Changes in behavior or attitude: Unusual irritability, pinning ears, reluctance to be saddled, or general restlessness can indicate discomfort.
✅Loss of performance: A noticeable drop in performance - like slower times, refusing jumps, or struggling with tasks that used to be easy - is often a red flag.
If you notice any of these signs, it’s a good idea to schedule an osteopathic check-up. Early intervention is key, because addressing minor issues now prevents them from turning into bigger, more painful problems later. I always tell owners to trust their instincts - if something feels off with your horse, an osteopathy session can help pinpoint and resolve the issue before it escalates.
How much does it cost?
I offer personalized osteopathy programs, so the cost is tailored to your horse’s specific needs and the level of care provided. Programs typically range from around a yearly membership at 1,000eur up to an intense VIP program at 10,000eur, depending on factors like the number of sessions, the duration of the program, and any supplementary services your horse might benefit from. This might seem like a wide range, but it’s designed to provide long-term value - a comprehensive program can improve your horse’s comfort and performance while preventing costly issues down the line. I’m committed to working with you to find the right plan for your horse and budget, and I’m always transparent about pricing before we begin. If you’re new to osteopathy (or to my practice), I usually recommend starting with an initial session that you can book separately. This lets you experience the results and build trust in the process before committing to a full program. Remember, the goal is to invest in your horse’s health proactively, so you both reap the rewards of a sound, high-performing horse for years to come.
How often does my horse need osteopathy?
The frequency of osteopathic sessions depends on your horse’s condition, workload, and goals. I customize the treatment schedule for each horse. For example, a competition or performance horse in heavy training might benefit from more frequent tune-ups (perhaps monthly) to keep them at peak performance, whereas a horse in light work or retirement might only need a check-up a few times a year. If we’re addressing a specific issue or injury, I may recommend an initial series of sessions closer together (e.g. a couple of sessions a few weeks apart) to resolve the problem. After that, we’ll move into a maintenance rhythm that makes sense for your horse. The key is consistency - regular osteopathic care, even if spaced out, helps catch small issues early and keeps your horse feeling and performing their best year-round.
